Building a PC on a Plastic Table with Metal Legs

I've heard people say that surfaces made of plastic/wood are good to build on since they don't build up static easily, but would a plastic table with metal legs be good to build on or will the metal legs be a problem?

I live near Chicago. I'll also be using an anti-static wristband for the build. Would working in a space such as a basement be suitable?
