[SOLVED] building a pc what should i buy first?

I'd certainly try to buy all parts at about the same time.

You don't want dead parts sitting on your shelf that you don't know are dead.....because you have not assembled them into a PC to find out.

You can CHOOSE in any order. Without buying.

I'd try to settle on a motherboard, CPU, and case first.

  3. what is the difference between i7 12700k, i7 12700f, 12700kf, and which one is the best.

That build is meant for 1080P / 1920 x 1080.

12700K is an unlocked cpu with integrated graphics.
12700KF is an unlocked cpu with no integrated graphics.
12700 is a locked cpu with integrated graphics.
12700F is a locked cpu with no integrated graphics.

The unlocked cpu's are usually paired up with a Z690 board. Although those cpu's can be overclocked if you have very good cooling, they use a lot of power and run hot compared to the locked cpu's. The locked cpu's are usually paired up with a B660 / H670 board and although they can't be overclocked you can run them with the power limits turned off in order to gain a few more frames per second. You want to use Windows 11 with these Intel 12 gen cpu's seeing how it will gain you an extra 10 - 20 more frames per second in games.

As far as that case goes, you should be good for now with the two fans in the front and an exhaust fan in the rear of that case. As far as waiting for the cost of cards to go down ... that's up to you but you have the budget to build a very good gaming system now.
