Hello! I'm planning to build my first pc. When I open the motherboard manual, it told me that I must wear antistatic Wrist and place the motherboard on a top of antistatic mat. I don't have any of those, so can I build my pc without those thing? Or I should buy?

Thanks

Solution
Hi, Don't worry. Don't wear slippers (keep your feet on a carpet) and put the motherboard on its box. Gran the components by the edges (board, CPU, RAMs, GPU). Avoid touching the circuits/chips. I'd firstly install CPU, CPU cooler, RAM, and test it. Then install it in the pc case.

I never use an anti static mat or bracelet when building pc's and never had a problem. But I do take some precautions. Dont build a pc while standing on carpet, don't wear say a fleece or clothes that can produce a lot of ESD when rubbed together, use a surface like wood to build on, and touch the case or something steel and heavy before touching components to discharge yourself.
