Building a second gaming pc but need a low budget gpu.

So, I'm building a gaming pc so I can play csgo and Dota 2 along with any of my friends when they come to visit.
i3 2120 processor, all I need now it's a gpu and a friend of mine is willing to send me an old Nvidia GeForce gtx 280 he's not using ( my budget? Broke) and I would like know if this is enough to play csgo and Dota 2. About ram I bought 2x4gb ballistix...

So will this gpu be enough to run these games?
Even though what other do you recommend I should buy for next year low-mid price.

Should be able to play those just fine. How much would you be paying?

As to future purchases, it's better to re-search it then. New GPUs are coming out pretty fast and prices change around a bit.
