i personally dont like windows 8 but windows 8 does give slight better performance in games then windows 7 does so yes its good for gaming

Doesn't really matter but with all the problems with Windows 8 most ppl are building with 7

If you intend to SLI in the future I would bump up the PSU to 1000W.
