Hey all!

So I am relatively new at system building, but for this build that I am currently attempting to do, I wanted to build it around the Lian-Li - PC-O11 Dynamic case. I wanted to build a decent 1440p 75-100fps rig with a budget at a maximum of $2000.00.

Here is my system so far https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/yJHyJ8

If you have any suggestions to improve the build (such as price-wise) let me know. Also just a note, I live in Canada so any suggestions made for the build, just keep in mind of the price differences. :)

Thanks for the help!

Looks OK but will have to make sure that BIOS is updated for 3gen Ryzen compatibility. You also may not need such large cooler or any aftermarket cooler if you are not going for some crazy OC. AMD Rx 580 or 590 8GB GPU is just as good as RTX 2060 for less. 6GB just may not cut it with AAA games.

I think you should swap the aio for a cheaper cooling solution since you dont need it all. The money is way better spent at the GPU. See the 2070 as a placeholder as the new geforce super lineup will launch in two days. Rather get a 2060S (2070 performance) or a 2070S( 1080ti performance) then. Radeon 5700XT might also be a option as it will be faster as 2070 at a lower price.

Also if you spend that kind of money at a mobo you might aswell take a x570 baord. Btw the ryzen 3000 memory controller will run ddr4 3733mhz at 1:1 ratio, so this is the speed you want it to run at for best performance.

Btw. seeing what your current rig is like, i would suggest that you don´t upgrade your platform at all. The best thing you could do, is to get a more powerful gpu. Something like 2070S or a 2080 when discounted will be a much more sensible upgrade for you.

What are you trying to accomplish?
The build at the bottom of your post is equally as good as your prospective build

On the build you posted, I have some thoughts:

  1. I would use a X570 based motherboard. No sense in going old tech for a new build.
  2. The Seasonic focus 650 in the current build will be a superior power supply.
  3. I think I would use the stock cooler and spend the $200 budget from the H150 on a stronger graphics card.

Thanks for the suggestions I will take a look at them and see what things look like! I guess I should have noted in my main post that this build is not an upgrade for myself, it is for someone else. :)

As I mentioned to the other guy that responded to my post, this build is not for me but for someone else. My current rig is perfect for what I am doing, no need for upgrading for me. :)
