I was thinging about building a computer tower all out of plexiglass, everything would be made with 3/4' plexiglass. I would make a back panel out of 1/2' sheet of metal where the mother board would mount onto it's a "Asus P8P67 WS Revolution: Intel P67 Express, Nvidia NF200 PCIe Bridge, LGA 1155". The power supply would be an "OCZ-Z1000M: 1000W Modular, ATX12V v2.2, EPS12V, 80 PLUS Gold". Would be installing a H70 CPU cooler onto a 2600k cpu. Will also be running about six fans about 120mm in size. What do you thing?

I think it sounds like alot of work when you can buy pre make cases that are made about the same way. But if you think you will have fun doing this than thats a good thing right :). I saw a water box at frys called The Danger Den looks awesome extra cool looking with some nice lighting :) not cheap though was like $180 :(.

Of course I can buy a tower already built, just like I can buy a computer already put together as well. But the beauty of building your own computer like building your own case/tower is you get to do it your way not someone else way! My question is can one build a case/tower out of plexiglass without it heating up and melting the plexiglass?

Well im guessing if they make them its cool right? I will say if you have ever seen old plexiglass its not very attractive, yurns cloudy and yellow. I dont see a GPU in your list of parts? I ask because I think high heat wile not high to the point of melting the case, might make that yellow cloudy effect show up faster. So depending on how long you plan on keeping what you build its something to think about.

I just finest with the clear coat already looks good so far! Might add another will see. Now what I have to do after is install a metal plate for the motherboard. Need lots of support with all the stuff I am putting on this baby. the plate will be hidden by the motherboard. Will act as a good ground for the tower. I am telling you this going to look awesome with lights and gauges! Running a camcorder from start to the moment I fire up this puppy! If anyone know where I might get some clear tower fans give a holler. Pick some up already from radioshack. Looking for one 200mm Blue LED thanks.

Your right they are clear! I am running 2-200mm fans, one at the bottom and one at the top intake and exhaust! Will also run about 6-120mm fans as well. Will be post the outcome in about two weeks.

I thought my rig broke yesterday because I was getting 20 FPS playing Crysis Warhead.......Well I had another game going in the background lol. So I was kind of surprised my modest setup could even pull 20 FPS with the 2 games going. Yours could prob do 60.
