Building an Intel PC but should I upgrade to the next gen or not?

I'm building a intel PC with 3rd gen type of CPU Intel Core i5-3570 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
but i'm look at buying buying a 4th or 5th gen Intel CPU just to keep up should I do it?

If you're building a PC from scratch then yeah go for the latest Skylake architecture.
But if you already have, say the motherboard and RAM, then no, just get the appropriate 3rd gen (Ivy Bridge) i5.

I mean, if you must have the best, then of course there is no option but to get the best. But if you're looking to save money, then an Ivy Bridge i5 isnt bad at all.

Would make a bigger difference if you could get an Ivy Bridge i7 imo. Bigger difference than a Skylake i5 (But getting a K-series CPU changes this).

This will do especially if you do intense gaming 3d apps, video recording and especially when windows 8/10 uses abit more resources then 7 does.

So it really falls back on your needs, if you need power/office productivity go with lga 1150 gaming, schooling in home or run small businesses lga 1151.

The i5-3570 is still a pretty good CPU. I have the i7-3770K and rarely is a game bottlenecked by my CPU by very much.

So it really comes down to cost vs performance. Some of the new motherboards offer other feature like M.2 SSD, USB3.1, Type C etc but frankly I wouldn't pay very much myself if this added much to the cost.

If you think you need the extra processing power then I suggest you go with an i5-6600K or i7-6700K Skylake build and use PCPARTPICKER as a guide.

Would definitely go with the second set.

The first one is meh. The mobo (H81) in the first set is just ghastly.

The i5-3570 is still a pretty good CPU. I have the i7-3770K and rarely is a game bottlenecked by my CPU by very much.

I might do a little video editing since I do make videos, a little gaming and maybe some office work so I have to go with D to a certain extent.

Also don't be afraid of windows 10, if you have used windows 7, 10 is just like windows 7.
The only problems resides with windows 10 is the programmers and supervisors slipping the updates to you.
There are a few you will want to avoid until they fix it completely.

Just have fun with your build though, plenty of computer hardware/software junk out there to suit your needs directly.

Its not super powerful or anything, its just slightly better than Haswell.
It is only worth it if you arent too limited by your budget, and you are building a new system. Cant justify upgrading from Haswell to Skylake, unless you are jumping up a category (from i3 to i5, etc).

How would he overclock a 4570S CPU? Its not a K-series.
And why are you suggesting that CPU anyway? I'd rather not get an S model.

My friend I'm not going to OC my CPU i'm not that crazy or stupid to do itwhy would I be thinking about that? besides I have two Arctic Silver 5 already. Also Windows 10 spies on you and even more so on your children aka phones home (welcome NSA/CIA/thoughtcrime/1984)! Microsoft added spying features to Windows 7/8 as well (more general list). Microsoft officially admits that automatic spying cannot be disabled in Windows 10 says itvision.altervista.org.

Its not super powerful or anything, its just slightly better than Haswell.

Well I'll be damned thank you for showing me this. I'll see if it's installed on my PC if it is I'll try to uninstall it. looks like trying to put spyware on 7 and 8 again thank you for telling me this.
