hehe...your build is a little crazy :p

Try putting it like this first (BBCode)

So you have an overclocking CPU with a motherboard that can't overclock (you need a z97).

Overclocked, you might get the G3258 to the equal of a i3-4330 which I think would still be a huge bottleneck for the r9 280 (might be wrong)

You have a 750w PSU which is beyond overkill and I'm not sure how good the Builder model is.
I'd get this 620w one though if you want some extra room with great quality.
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-hcg620m

You only have 1333 ram when 1600 ram is the better kind.

Lately I've been hearing windows 8 is far better than Windows 7.

I'd rather have at least the Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler than have the fan controller. You can add either of them in later, but just my opinion.

Another opinion, but many people like to have a microATX motherboard with a microATX tower.

It's late here so I can't really design a better build right now, but at least you have something to go by :)

I can say that with $800 you can easily fit a i5 4670k into your budget and it is the an amazing CPU to overclock with.

Ok so I'm bloody tired as it's 4am now lol. Someone else can review it but I believe it's alright as is.

Brief explanation:

-i5 > g3258/6300/8320
- z97 PRO4 will get you to 4.5ghz, maybe a bit more. If you can go up to the Asrock Extreme 4 I'd recommened it.
- The case had to take a hit. I wouldn't be able to spend 12% of my budget on a case when I knew I could get an i5 instead.
- The PSU is a very good quality and less than your other one.

Tier 2 Class A :)
- You can add in the fan controller/CPU cooler later when you are ready to overclock

Good luck :p

Do you want to have the option for crossfire?

According to this review is the pentium not doing that bad, especially overclocked.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/pentium-g3258-overclocking-performance,3849.html
there are more reviews with different results so look at those too.

My view on your original build with the option for crossfire,

you could upgrade the pentium to an i5 later too and a second gpu when having the budget. The i5 is the better cpu, look at the minimum fps in those reviews.
Just as another option.Which you choose is up to you.

The one i posted above will imo be nice for overclocking.

Some more builds, but more expensive putting the i5 4690K in there,
M-atx,
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7rPCFT

m-itx,
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ckyhmG
or with this case,
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-case-haf915fkkn1

will imo both work for a lan case.Look at them and look for reviews about both if you want some more info, these are there to be found.
The psu in these builds could also be used for the first i posted knowing you're not going for crossfire.
