So my main reason coming here is i am stuck between 2 cards.... the gtx 570 or the radeon 7850 while i know the 7850 is quieter and cooler and maybe a little better ( but from what i have heard there pretty much neck and neck) and a little cheaper! so the 7850 would seem the way to go.. but i know arma 3 is gonna have physx 3 in it and i want to get the best experience out of that game as i can... so i am wondering which one should i go for?? they say physx will run on your CPU for amd users so it will work. but idk its to early to know if thats true for sure.. so what do you guys think i should do?? oh and the highest i will go is like.. $269. here are the rest of my specs

CPU: Intel core i5 3570k Ivy Bridge
Mobo: ASRock Z77 Pro4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77
Ram: 4GB G. SKILL 1333
and windows 7 and thats really all you should need to know. so what do you guys think??

Hey cynosure33,

The GeForce GTX 570 features a core clock frequency of 732 MHz and a GDDR5 memory speed of 950 MHz. It also features a 320-bit memory bus, and uses a 40 nm design. It features 480 SPUs, 60 TAUs, and 40 Raster Operation Units.

Compare all that to the Radeon HD 7850, which features a clock speed of 860 MHz and a GDDR5 memory frequency of 1200 MHz. It also makes use of a 256-bit bus, and makes use of a 28 nm design. It is made up of 1024 SPUs, 64 Texture Address Units, and 32 Raster Operation Units.

Comparision -

Power Consumption (Max TDP) -

Radeon HD 7850 - 130 Watts
GeForce GTX 570 - 219 Watts
Difference: 89 Watts (68%)

Memory Bandwidth -

Performance-wise, the Radeon HD 7850 should theoretically be a bit superior to the GeForce GTX 570 in general.

Radeon HD 7850 - 153600 MB/sec
GeForce GTX 570 - 152000 MB/sec
Difference: 1600 (1%)

Texel Rate -

The Radeon HD 7850 is much (about 25%) more effective at anisotropic filtering than the GeForce GTX 570.

Radeon HD 7850 - 55040 Mtexels/sec
GeForce GTX 570 - 43920 Mtexels/sec
Difference: 11120 (25%)

Pixel Rate -

If using high levels of AA is important to you, then the GeForce GTX 570 is superior to the Radeon HD 7850, though not by far.

GeForce GTX 570 - 29280 Mpixels/sec
Radeon HD 7850 - 27520 Mpixels/sec
Difference: 1760 (6%)

So looking at the above mentioned benchmarks, I suggest you go with -

Last but not the least, you decide which one you prefer. Technically speaking this is the best one could give you to choose between the two cards, even though they are neck by neck I would go with Radeon HD 7850 over Nvidia GTX 570 but hey the decision is your's, I am merely pointing out what are the things that you should look out for when getting either of these 2 cards.

In case you go with Radeon HD 7850, Go with this - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007PJTNYS?tag=hwcompare-20&camp=15309&creative=331477&linkCode=st1&creativeASIN=B007PJTNYS&adid=14ZRH3Q1NC0D8YA08VQQ&ref-refURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hwcompare.com%2F12053%2Fgeforce-gtx-570-vs-radeon-hd-7850%2F
