So I am not sure if this is the right section to post this question, if not I apologize.

It has been maybe 8 Years since I built a PC and I am way out of the loop.

I switched to Mac on the advice of friends about 6 years ago. I do editing with adobe and was told an iMac would be great for that. I was never satisfied with the I Mac’s always felt handcuffed in so many ways, loved the freedom of PC with upgrading.

Last year instead of going back to PC I stupidly bought another iMac, and it has been a nightmare. It bottle necks so easy. If I open Adobe premiere pro and photoshop and the same time the iMac grinds to a halt, when that happens when you are in a time crunch, or just trying to hurry its a huge pain!

I need to built a a solid computer I can use for work that can handle what I do, but really can’t afford to spend 3 grand right away. Could I please get some tips on what would be good for my situation as far as hardware to buy? Such as What is a good CPU for graphic and editing, video card, ram, motherboard and such.

Thanks for anything you can share.
