Building for a friend

Alright so this is gonna be my first solo build without someone helpping me put it together and choosing all the parts for me. I've selected out all the parts my self (not as hard as I thought it would be). He has a case, OS and monitor just wanted to get a couple opinions and see how I did and to do a final check to make sure everything will work together. I believe with this set up he will be able to play WoW on max settings with no problems.

Good job.

Maybe a WD 1Tb Caviar Black or a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1Tb. IMO, they have better performance.

I assume you will not be overclocking CPU? If so, you will need a "K" series CPU. ie i5 2500K or i7 2600K.

Also, if you can stretch your budget, G-Skill DDR3 CL9 PC3-12800 RipJaws CL9 XL 2x2Gb.

Good luck with your build.

I dont think he will need the OC it should still run its perfectly fine. I trust Seagate more than WD.

Also on the MoBo it said for Memory 1066 then 1600 (OC), does that mean I can use 1600's even though its not OC'ed?

your ram is quite a bit slower than you want. You should aim for DDR3 1600 ram. That is really the sweet spot in performance and price. Right now, ram is so cheap that it is a bad place to try to save money. I would recommend this for memory if you are looking for memory. The link is to the 2x4GB kit, however the 2x2GB would do ok. I game on 4GB total, but there is a definitive benefit to having 6+.

That is a fairly intense graphics card. Is this build intended for gaming?
For an extra $40, I would step up to the i5 2500K. It is just a beastly processor. I believe that to be very well worth the extra 40, especially if you are at all interested in overclocking it. (If you do not understand how, It is very easy on sandy bridge. There are lots of guides, and helpful people on here.)
I would be a little cautious about a kingwin power supply. Odds are it will work just as well as a Corsair, Rosewll, Etc. However to go with the equivalent of one of those would be $30 more. I can understand saving a few bucks there.

Grr still confused this is what tigerdirect says

Memory Supported: DDR3 1333MHz
DDR3 1066MHz
DDR3 1600MHz (OC)
DDR3 1866MHz (OC)
DDR3 2133MHz (OC)
DDR3 2200MHz (OC)

If I choose a RAM of 1600 wouldnt it be wasted since the CPU needs to be OC'ed?

@Moto Ah, okay I see what you mean now.

@Ervin But from reading the Tom's guide on WoW GPUs this is good for it, not the best but still one of the tops on the charts tested.
