Case Fans: 2 of Cooler Master Sleeve Bearing 140mm Silent Fan for Computer Case x2
Monitor: Acer 24" LCD
PSU: 650W Antec

ram :corsair 8 gb vengeance with low cas latency
and psu deep cool
and buy a usb dvd writter

RAM: Would 2 x 4GB be better than 1 x 8GB?

PSU: I am assuming Deep Cool is a brand? Could you explain why I would need this.

Already have a external dvd drive. No need to burn, thats what thumb drives are for.

ram in 2x4 is slightly superior to 1x8, your cas latency affects the speed so 1866 @10 is slower then 1866 @8
looks good to me, if you intended to never overclock then you picked the right processor and mobo , otherwise get the 4690k with a Z97 mobo!
650W Antec doesn't say much, make sure if possible stick with one of the many top PSU brands with good warranties, I always say a semi/full modular is a must, also a gold is better then a bronze so check pricing.

60$ for a 750W Thermaltake 80+Gold otherwise the price range for a gold 650W+ PSU is ~80$

His motherboard does not support 1866 memory, and most of thr Antec power supplies are good TPC HCG
Gold also really means nothing as far as the quality goes, and modular is not needed with any decent case.

I gave an example for the ram since he did not provide and exact set, i never said Antec wasnt good, just to use any decent brand with a good warranty and support. I said gold is better then bronze, i mentioned nothing about quality of it, and i think any person willing to build a computer can understand that the gold is more efficient then a bronze, therefor "better" like the word i used. please read what i wrote.

I've built PC's only with modular PSU's and worked on my friends builds that didn't not opt to get the Modular PSU and it blows having to throw the extra cords behind the mobo because you didn't pay five dollars more to not have them there flexing on your cases side.

2X 4 1X8 does not make any difference its a combination of single channel and duel channel
buy a ram which has low cas latency cas latency is everything low cas latency rams reply to computer faster than high cas latency rams . so search for a low cas latency ram and
2X 4 1X8 does not make any difference

Thanks for the input, its actually the Antec Neo Eco 620c.

And yes, the H97 Mobo and 4690 was intentional as I do not have plans to overclock my system. Although now I wonder if 620W is sufficient for my setup... comments?

I do have a spending limit lol. I would have gone lower but the price gets to prohibitive for my budget. This will mainly be a gaming machine, so I wonder if 8 GB sufficient? I was thinking maybe doing 16GB but that is probably not worth it because my system will never actually use that much?

True, the mobo does not support 1866, but the other reason I didn't get a mobo that does support 1866 and pair it with a 1866 RAM is because the cost / performance is not worth it. I think I read a few comparisons and benchmark reports and I would be paying something like 20 to 40 extra dollars for 5 FPS. Something like that just not worth it. 1600 was the sweet spot where you got the best bang for your buck.

I agree about ram speeds only the fps gain is much smaller. 8Gb should be fine just watch ur swap usage and if u need more get more. Otherwise it looks perfect. Yes i think a 650 is big enough. Boogie psu calc and check on a few of those websites. Not a fan of newegg psu calc tho

Thanks, decided to just get a new PSU thats modular. My old case had none used cables hanging out of it, not tryna have that. Decided on EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GS

Yeah i say any semi/full because a semi has the 8 and 24 hard wired and you will always need those if your only using 1 psu so its safe, bu that cuts back on 2 molex and a sata cable you wont need to have bundled up. Glad you swapped :)
