Building my first custom PC

Hi, like the title says, I'm building my first custom PC. I'm not keeping anything from this old one(cause it's so old), so I'l have to buy everything. My price range is around 1300. With that said, first I'l need the parts... I have some in mind already...

BTW I had some help with this, getting ideas form other people's configs and stuff...

Okay that all comes out to about 1270... not including S/H so, here's some question is:
Are they all compatible?
Are there better/cheaper items anywhere else?
Am I missing anything?

Looks good except for the memory. Get Corsair PC3200 Value instead of PC2700. You'll spend the same amount of money for faster ram. See if you can swing enough extra for a 19" CRT instead of a 17". You'll enjoy the difference. Samsung 997 around 200 bucks.

Different ram for sure, and I've had some problems with samsung hdds. I prefer seagate.

Do some more looking around on the monitor! Thats really not a gret deal. As far as Hard Drives, check your local Office Depot. Beleive it or not they are running a good rebate on HD's. I dont usually buy from that store, but 60GB Maxtors after the rebate are $22-$24 a piece. Oh, and take Cybercraigs advice and get something faster than 2700. I never see anything positive said about 2700 MEM.

Your cpu won't fit on that motherboard. Motherboard is a Socket 939, and CPU is a Socket 754.

Seems a black CRT would be a better match than that beige one. Also, I agree, bump the Ram up to at least PC3200.

Overclocking? If so...got a 90nm chip instead of the 130nm chip. They overclock better.

And BTW, does the case come with fans? It says 2 in the front, 1 in the rear. From the pictures, it doesn't look like it could fit 2x60mm fans in the front... anyway, the main thing about the case is does it come with those 3 fans? CPU. Get a 3200+ Winchester, probably the best deal in 939 chips.

If he sticks to Newegg, the 3200+ Winchester($194) is $45 more than the 3000+ Winchester($149) he chose. I think the 3000+ is the better bang for the buck.

dont go with that vid card, its crap. go with a 256 meg ddr3 vid card, this only has 128 ddr1.
