Here is the link to my parts list: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/waydeb/saved/4bdK

Basically I'm using the PC for watching movies over the internet, mild gaming (Starcraft 2, Anno 2070, etc.), internet downloading, etc. I need a PC that will be quick, and function well.

If there are any parts that I can replace with a cheaper part at the same quality please let me know. If there is a part that has better specifications than necessary, then please let me know. Or, if everything looks good let me know :)

I am very green to this, so any tips, comments, or questions are greatly appreciated.

Looks like a great build for what it is, and what it'll be used for. The 4670K will hold up very nicely for you, should you decide to upgrade graphics cards down the line.

You could potentially swap out your PSU for a good fully modular Silverstone. They make great quality PSU's and a fully modular supply will keep unnecessary wires out of your case. That said, 750W might be a little overkill for that small of a system, I would recommend maybe a 500-600W PSU instead. Also you may not need a regular PCI network adapter as your motherboard will surely have at least one network adapter on board. The Wi-Fi card is a good touch though.

Overall a solid build for a newcomer. :)

Thanks man, I kinda figured the 750w was unnecessary but figured i should go higher just encase. I will take a look at some fully modular PSUs.

If you are not planning on playing Games that are very graphically demanding then you do have lots of options for a cheaper CPU. The i5 4670k is great for Highend GPU's and video editing and it is just plain fast in single threaded applications. That being said You can save a bit of money if you go with an i3 4130 or i3 4330 which are still very fast and there is almost no difference in single threaded performance. Also it is a dual core with HT so you can multitask in windows an not have any issues. AMD FX series is cheaper but lacks the raw power of the i5s and i7s and some i3s And yes the i3 could handle being paired with the r7 260x so no worries there
