Just to make sure NewEgg has the best deals on parts, use www.pcpartpicker.com They automatically searcj for the best deal on each part you select, including the shipping costs and the "bundles" or "deals" each site/dealer has. So check that out before investing and let me know the total price after rebates that it gives you. Might save yo some money, but now a huge lot

If I were you and had 2.5k for a system, I would definitely consider getting a Solid State Drive. I say forget the 2 SSD's in your laptop, as far as i know, I have no idea but highly doubt if laptop SSD (or regular hard drives for that matter) are made to be compatible with desktops , but that being said I think if you ditch the liquid cooler (which IS overkill, wont need one of those on a 4790k i7 for at least a year or two for any game, that cpu is a beast) you could free up your budget a little and get one of these babys

You could also probably settle for a 750 watt powersupply, save more then 65$ doing that

I am also contemplating getting the Asus Z97-A for my first computer build, seems like a solid choice but i have my own thread i started on that question lol

Best of luck! We have similar products in our builds, here's my (hypothetical at the moment) build if you want to take a look at it for reference

i5 4690K
500gb hard drive @7200rpm (using from old pc)
ATI Radeon 2gb RAM Sapphire 6950 (from old pc)
Corsair CX Series 750 Watts, Modular
Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600 MHz RAM
NZXT ca-ph410-g1 Phantom 410 Mid Tower
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound 3.5 Grams (don't forget thermal compound for mounting the cpu to mobo!) its like 5$
Asus Z97-A Mobo

it all costs me about $663

You can definitely use the SSD's from your laptop in your PC, the only difference between laptop hard drives and desktop drives is the size (laptop drives are usually 2.5" while PC drives are 3.5"). SSDs are always (to my knowledge) 2.5", so you'll need an adaptor to fit it in the drive bay in your pc which you can probably pick up for $5 or so. Personally I would just put the SSD's you currently have in your laptop in the PC, it shouldn't cause any difficulties and 500gb should be able to store plenty of games.
