Building my new PC

Hey guys,

Part 1 is a small but painful backstory.
Part 2 is straight to the point.

1. I used to think that I still have lots of time because I have sent my PC to France via mail. What a mistake ... My box arrived in a reasonable shape although I needed to hit it in few places to go back to normal. My GPU didn't have that much luck. My GPU cooler lost all the screws and all parts made of plastic are simply broken.
I could buy some cheap cooler but if I have to spend on sth I prefer to buy a new card. And that's how my unlucky delivery, forced me to speed things up.
I'm not a person who blindly follows any new trends in technology and when I buy a PC, it's something for years. My first box served me well for 7 years and I still have a 12-year old flat screen, which has a single black pixel. My current box is 5 years old, so I decided that it's time for a change.

2. This is what I intend to buy and I have no clue if it works together well 😉
Any feedback appreciated

1) Firstly Case - Z11 Neo

2) GPU - Sapphire Radeon R9 Fury X 4GB HBM HDMI/TRIPLE DP PCI-Express Graphics Cards
3) CPU - Intel I5-6600K 3.50 GHz, 6 M Processor Cache 6 for LGA 1151 (BX80662I56600K)
4) Motherboard - ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO LGA1151 DDR4 M.2 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 Type A Type C Intel Z170 ATX Motherboard
5) CPU cooler - BeQuiet Shadowrock Slim (already have that one but might buy sth else)
6) Soundcard - I heard that with this mobo, you don't really need one but if I'm mistaken - Creative Soundblaster Zx (I'm using Sennheiser Game Zero headphones and that's why I'm wondering)
7) Disks:
- SSD for my system: SanDisk Extreme PRO 240GB SATA 6.0Gb/s 2.5-Inch 7mm Height Solid State Drive
- 1-2 Tb should be more than enough for the rest: WD Black 2TB Performance Desktop Hard Disk Drive 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD2003FZEX
8) RAM - some DDR4, Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB? No idea
9) Power Supply - no idea

Number of intended screens - 2

I really don't know if it's a good setup.

I did some research and I saw that there is a problem with Radeon Fury in some boxes because you need to mount a radiator above your card. I'm not sure, if Z11 allows me to do that and how to do that.

Also this particular mobo is quite bulky and reviews told me, that I might run into some troubles when mounting RAM with heatpipes and bigger CPU coolers (that's why ShadowRock Slim which I already have).

As you can see I'm clueless, even more so, when it comes to RAM and a proper power supply to feed my baby.
Please help!

Luke

Hello again!

I still need your help and I would be glad to read any opinions on my build. Most of all - is it a good build?
I chose some parts using reviews from here and from other dark corners of the internet and it's really important for me, since it's a big chunk of my savings :)

Now the second question - what PSU shall I choose?

Outervision is showing me ~600W. I heard two opinions - PSU should be 25-50% stronger than that, or PSU should be 20-25% stronger than that because the more power I get, the more it will actually drain, if the difference is too big.

I'm quite confused because it means 1000W or just 800W.

As for RAM - what would be the best choice for my build?
Is Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 16GB ok?

And finally my original question - is anyone aware if I don't run into any trouble with those components inside my planned Z11.

Regards
