Building my Own Gaming Computer - Please Critique my Parts Selection

This will be my first build, so any advice on my choice of parts would be gladly appreciated. I know the PSU is over the top but I want to fiddle with the Corsair Link facility.

Any other tips gladly taken.

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£54.95 @ Aria PC)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£35.94 @ Aria PC)

Might want to throw an SSD in there somewhere. Just a 240gb will be fine.

My build is better, you don't need a Maximus VII Hero, the Asus Z97-A overclocks just as well and is cheaper.

Get the update i5 4690k, it's more recent and better

you DO NOT need that power supply, with the money saved from the power supply i managed to fit a GTX 970, which is a much more useful buy

That's the perfect build except he could get a 240gb SSD. A 120gb SSD is too small for most people.

That's the perfect build except he could get a 240gb SSD. A 120gb SSD is too small for most people.

Great point, SSD prices are so cheap these days that you can buy a 240gb without spending much, I'd still stick with the samsung 840 evo series though...

You could go with a cheaper PSU, locked i5, and a cheaper Z97 motherboard. Used the saved money to get a GTX 970.

Actually looking at pcp there are 970s for the same price as the GTX 770 you have listed. I still stick with my suggestions to save money however. If you need a specific build, just ask.

But windows will take up a lot of that and once you put a couple of things on it, it will be completely full
