Greetings.

I have finally decided it is time to build a new PC from scratch instead of upgrading my old one, the only part i will be keeeping is the case from current computer, i would need some opinions about the build if there is something i should take into consideration that might cause problems down the line or botleneck the build.

Approximate Purchase Date: This or next month.
Budget Range: 2000-2400€
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Mostly for gaming purpose and VR in future.
Are you buying a monitor: No plans for that, currently hooked up to 4K TV
Do you need to buy OS: Having a hard time to choose if i should go with 7 or 10 currently.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Parts will be bought from http://www.jimms.fi/ should be easy to find different parts when names are in english on the site even thou it is finnish, in case there is something you guys think i should change.
Location: Finland
Parts Preferences: No major brands or types i prefer, just want to make a good machine, been using intel and gigabyte mostly on older machine.
Overclocking: Yes, but later on.
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe if it will prove a good option later on.
Your Monitor Resolution: Using 4K television so it goes up to 4096x2160 but will not be running in 4K. Mostly in 1080p or 1440p
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Goal is to have a solid gaming PC that will be able to run games with Rift once it is released, have been postponing the purchase of a new PC until a closer date with the rift and now seems like a good as any time to build one.

The parts for the new build are these, the current price for this build listed below is 2060.60€ but i can still see myself going up a couple of hundred euros in case there is something would be good to switch out for better parts.

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor 429.00 €
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S 55.0 CFM CPU Cooler 59.90 €
Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING, LGA1151, Intel Z170, DDR4, ATX 156.00 €
Memory: Corsair 16GB (2x8GB), Vengeance LPX, DDR4 2133 MHz, CL13 119.00 €
SSD: Kingston 240GB HyperX Savage SSD -levy, SATA III, 560/530 MB/s 109.90 €
HD: Western Digital 2TB Caviar Green, 3.5", IntelliPower, 64MB, Sata3 93.90 €
Video card: Asus Strix GTX 980 TI, DC 3 OC, 6GB GDDR5, PCI-E 3.0 869.00 €
Case: As for case i will be buying a Antec GX500, ATX-kotelo 64.90 € but i will not use it, plans are to move my old computer into this and use the case mentioned below from old one to put new computer into.
Case: Cooler Master CM Storm Trooper - Full Tower Gaming Case
Power supply: Corsair 750W RM750i, ATX2.4 modular power supply, 80+ Gold 159.00 €

Thanks for the reply, have checked out some reviews and other stuff regarding the i5 if i would change to it, the price drop would be a rather big one with 160€ and from what i seen on some benchmark videos and such it seems to be keeping up rather well with the i7.

For gaming an i5 is fine, the multi-core performance is not as important as the single core. Some will say that to future proof it should be taken into account as games will use more threads in the foreseeable future. I am not convinced we are there yet but it is possible. As of today, I would go with the i5.
