Building New Desktop / Need Opinions Before Committing!

I am working on a new PC build and want opinions from more experienced builders!

Want something powerful enough to handle at least 1440 gaming without dipping below 60fps no exceptions / entry level 4k. I'm not afraid to spend a little more on quality parts that will last a while down the road (hence the skylake / 980ti; I know these are a little overkill but I feel they will allow me to do minor upgrades like SLI the 980 as well as overclocking to hit decent 4k benchmarks in the future.)

Thoughts?
Am I going too far?
Is there something I missed?
Do I need to upgrade anything?

- The Fury X has repeatedly beaten the 980 Ti in 4K and performs about the same at lower resolutions.
- I don't see a reason to get 2 smaller SSDs (none that you provided anyway), so a 240GB one would be better to reduce cost. If you wanted to do RAID 0 or something for higher speed, don't, get a 950 Pro 256GB instead.
- Switched Seagate Barracuda drive to WD Black as Black is higher performing than either Barracuda or WD Blue and more reliable (and it has a 5 year warranty).
- Switched thermal paste to ARCTIC MX-4 as it's slightly better.

My concern with the R9 is that its liquid cooled and I would prefer the system to be 100% free of any liquids as to avoid any leaking / destroying of components (I have bad luck). However if it performs insanely better id gladly consider it! Will look up benchmarks.

The dual ssd is so that i can keep a couple sets of files separate so will be necessary (long story behind that).

Other then those two the changes are much appreciated! Will defiantly swap those out!

Unless you need to have those files on *physically* separate drives you can just create partitions.

No need to worry about fluid leakage. I'd prefer they made aircooled Fury Xs too but I guess they didn't see the reason to.
