Building new Gaming PC - Budget~1200€

Hey everyone,

i'm planning to buy a new PC mainly for gaming.
Types of games: MOBAs, Strategy, FPS, ... so pretty much a bit of everything.
I'm also occasionally watching movies on PC.(Netflix etc.)

My budget is about 1200€(Monitor not included) and i've already got some parts selected but i'm not sure if all the parts included are good for the price and properly working together.
Considering my budget i was planning to get an AMD build so i also have the option of getting a freesync monitor since those are about 100-200€ cheaper than g-sync.
Also i will need WLAN so it would be best to have it already in there(Mainboard has it in this case).
No OS is needed.

For a monitor i was hoping to get a good one with 27'' 2560x1440 144HZ freesync. Not sure about the panel tbh. (No curved)
I haven't decided on a monitor just yet so recommendations would be appreciated.
I think a good monitor with those specs should be somewhere from 300-400€?

Could you just tell me if what i've got here is decent or if i change some of the parts.

Ps.: not sure if that's important but i'm from Germany just in case that's important considering shipping and sorry if my english might be wrong sometimes. :)

Thanks in advance

For psu would i get something more like these,
https://geizhals.de/?cmp=1558770&cmp=1405283
don't think that Be Quiet is that bad,for about the same or less money would these be my choice.

Just for money sake, the gpu could be cheaper,

or better (imo),but less known brand,

short review and the only real one that i found,

I use those G.Skill ram and they are not the best. Run them myself @ 3066mhz 15-16-16-30 timings for best results. Can't say if that is the best for those you might get as well. If choosing again i might rather run these,

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

In regards to the answer from Vic.
PSU:
I was considering going for a 650W over a 600W psu already and i think i'm gonna go for a 650W then to be safe. (also considering possible future upgrades)

GPU:
About the gpu.... I've read some reviews that usually always recommend the Pulse over the Gigabyte and for only 20€ more i think that i can afford that. Also i wanna stick with AMD for FreeSync support.

RAM:
I kinda want to stick with DDR4-3200 since there also isn't really a big difference in the price and i think the system should be able to properly work with those.

Now to Lucky.
Thanks for a complete build advice.
One thing i don' care about tho is all that RGB. :)
I know many people just want their PC to be flashy but i just want it to work to the best extent and also be silent if possible.

About all those extra coolers... I was considering getting some extra but wasn't exactly sure about what i can fit together with my setup. (Don't really know much about the sizes and that stuff)

The monitor that you recommend there seems pretty good for the price.
So far i had my eyes on this AOC Agon AG271QX, 27": https://geizhals.de/aoc-agon-ag271qx-a1446277.html?hloc=at&hloc=de but there is a 50€ difference.

Well thanks anyway for your answers.
I'll probably reconsider some parts.

Well, the only intended rgb parts are the rams and the fans. If you don't like it :

Rams - https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/nJhj4D/patriot-viper-4-16gb-2-x-8gb-ddr4-3400-memory-pv416g340c6k

Fans - https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/VNBTwP/noctua-nf-p12-redux-1700-pwm-708-cfm-120mm-fan-nf-p12-redux-1700-pwm

The cooler is also dead silent and fits in the case.

I would suggest a 2 front intake, 1 rear exhaust and 1 top intake fan setup. The top intake for mobo vrm cooling.

The fans are 1300rpm 20db fans. So pretty quiet. The gpu with triple fan cooling should also run quiet compared to a dual fan gpu.

So all in all, the rgb is just a bonus.

The AOC monitor you listed is also a pretty good one. But if you don't really mind the curve, this panel is a VA panel with much richer color reproduction while also being a bit big : https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/2dw7YJ/viewsonic-vx3258-2kc-mhd-315-2560x1440-144hz-monitor-vx3258-2kc-mhd

Hey,

thanks for the quick response.

One question i've still got is wether a 650W psu would be enough or should i actually go for 750W in a build like this.

Should i step down on the mainboard like you did in your setup suggestion? If i do that what exactly does that means for future performance in my build?

I'm willing to go up to ~1300€ for the tower if needed but i don't really wanna go much higher than that.
So if i go by your recommendations it would look like this https://geizhals.de/?cat=WL-1108052 and cost about 1330€

Yeah I can’t see why that would be an issue because the poster said they don’t care about RGB and want silence which is why I kept the case on and left stuff in that you can turn off the lights. Plus the case doesn’t even have a window.

And I don’t get why people are on a about a 750W PSU when the system won’t be drawing even close to 500W of power.

Used your sysytem builder link as some of the prices are better than partpicker, It ownt let me share a link so Ive had to screen grab.

That 100 saving will get you a secondary hard drive and/or an aftermarket cooler.

However with the r6 I honestly think the stock wraith prism will manage just fine.

The change to the gigabyte rx vega is simply because that powercolor card has shot up over 100 euro in price since your original post.
For that money your close to a vega 64

IN retrospect ,swap out the psu to a focus plus, for an extra 20 euro you have full modularity & a semi silent fan profile.

https://geizhals.de/seasonic-focus-plus-gold-750w-atx-2-4-ssr-750fx-a1658718.html

& I would stick with a 750w personally simply because with it only hitting 60% use max the majority of the time its going to be capable of running semi passively a lot of the time.

won't i need any additional coolers to keep the temperature low with that case or should i still get some extra like Lucky suggested?

The r6 has 3 X 140mm fans preinstalled.

It offers very very good cooling straight out of the box.

Maybe at the most add a single extra 140mm exhaust in the top rear port - not a necessity though imo at all & will compromise silence a little as it means removing the top moduvent sound baffling.

The fractal r series are just top tier cases quality wise.

I've owned the original r4 since release nearly 5 years ago, it's a case that has run through 3 different builds & something that I'll probably still own in another 5 years.

The r4 was always a great case, the r6 is just way way better.

Regarding the cpu cooler, your choice, the wraith prism is entirely capable of keeping the 2700x at reasonable temps at the expense of fan noise, in a fully sound damped case like the r6 cooler noise is not imo going to be an issue at all.

Your usage scenario is honestly never going to see that 2700x go over 60% load in real world terms

OK i've pretty much decided to go with the current build here: https://geizhals.de/?cat=WL-1108052

I'll stick with a vega 56 for now since i just feel like it has a better price value than a vega 64 .... and just going to upgrade at some point in the future.

Since the build is pretty much fixed now i only need a monitor now.
Currently i've got an ASUS VN247
Should be this https://geizhals.eu/asus-vn247h-90lmgf001t01041k-a862323.html

I'm just not 100% sure which monitor i should take. I'd like to have a good visible upgrade compared to my current monitor.

Is there a big difference in color when it comes to these ?
AOC Agon AG271QX - iiyama G-Master GB2760QSU-B1 Red Eagle (as Lucky suggested)
https://geizhals.de/?cat=WL-1106860
Both are TN so i don't think there is much difference in this case.

Considering those aren't all that cheap either i just wanna make sure i get something decent.
Also i'm not really a big fan of curved monitors so i rather stick with a standard :)

Agree with Vic, everything ezcemment apart from that psu, its OK & all but running a vega card you'll be better with that 750w focus full stop.

At the very least it's going to be substantially quieter under heavy loads.
