Everything is compatible but for gaming i7 is not needed nor is 16gb get i5 for gaming + 8gb hyperthread does not benefit games. The i5 is the better choice (because of cost effectiveness) and will last just as long as the i7.

I just built one with 16gb and seen usage of up to 6 but not much more. on a side not id go with the haf XM. seriously... its worth it to take that money you ssaved on the ram and CPU and get that case. Youll thank me when your building it that you dont have thumb screws and a small case to deal with. the haf XM has the latch on the side :::: I used a 180.00 storm trooper. Get a good case so you dont rage quit later

im on tight budget, and bigger case will cost like 50-70 euros, i dont have that much to spare.
