So I'm building myself a new Gaming rig and need a new CPU, Motherboard, ram , case. A i7( or AMD equalivant) 16gb ddr4.
I already own a 1000watt Psu modular and a Gtx 980

Solution
Ah righto, I can see why you're struggling, a higher core count would definitely help with your application.
The i7 will still perform better at 1080p vs Ryzen though.
I recommend a new system dedicated to rendering, no point leaving all that hardware lying around and crippling your gaming performance anyway.
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 1700 3.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($269.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - M9a 48.4 CFM CPU Cooler ($19.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($77.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($126.88 @ OutletPC)...
Stick with that i7, it's still top end and can run a 1080 Ti even with easily no bottleneck.
Is it a proprietary motherboard from an all in one or not?
Full specs of the system? I see no problem.
There's only been a 15-20% IPC increase from 3rd gen to current gen.

Thanks! I've got a CPU cooler lying around so I can remove that. I noticed that I have still $140 left in my budget so I may upgrade that 1050 to a 1060 Ti, or just keep it as is?
