Building new PC using on hand parts

Hello everyone. Recently my son has been asking for his own computer. So in order to please him, I looked over the spare parts I have on hand. In my search I have the following:

AMD Phenom II x4 810
ASUS M3ND72-D
BFG GeForce GTX 260
WD Caviar 250GB
Kingston 4GB (PC 6400 DDR2 800Mhz)
Cooler Master Storm

I still need to get an optical drive, power supply, and wireless card. Now my question is whether these parts are still good for the present time or do I need to buy all new parts for a budget build. My son just wants to use the surf the internet, for school, and play some games. Any advise and comments are welcome. Again, thank you

what type of games he will play?
how old is he? is he the only one will use it?

For a low end gaming system that computer is fine. It will run new games at lower settings and quite a few games at Medium and higher.
