hey everyone new here and been a while since I've built a pc. I had a few questions and was wondering if I could get some insight to see how everything would work together.

As for the parts.

Case- InWin 805
Motherboard-MSI Z170A M5
GPU-Zotac GeForce GTX 960 4GB
CPU-Intel i5-6600K
Power Supply-EVGA Supernova 550 GS
HDD-Western Digital 1TB
Memory/Ram-16gb ddr4 g.skill trident
CPU Cooler-NZXT Kraken X61

wondering if all will work well together, and will I be able to achieve the max resolution advertised on the GPU of 4096x2160? if not what resolution would be the best for gaming (battlefield 4 and now battlefield 1 as well as others like them) and HD movies?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I should have been more clear - you wont be gaming at 4k with that graphics card. You'll need to look at high-end cards if you want 4k gaming. Also, here are some notes on the parts you've selected:

Case- InWin 805 - Beautiful case, but you could save some money here and spend it on better components.
Motherboard-MSI Z170A M5 - this is fine for this build.
GPU-Zotac GeForce GTX 960 4GB - need significantly better gpu for 4k gaming. Consider a 1080 if you really want 4k, or lower expectations to 1440p and get a 1070 or rx480....

Negative on what part of it? I don't really have a price on mind just not crazy expensive.

Power Supply-EVGA Supernova 550 GS - Consider EVGA's G2 or P2 series. Look for gold+ rated at least (EVGA, SeaSonic, Rosewill are all top brands)
HDD-Western Digital 1TB - Consider a 240GB SSD to install your OS on, you will be glad you did
Memory/Ram-16gb ddr4 g.skill trident - Good!
CPU Cooler-NZXT Kraken X61 - Good, dont change it.

I already have the GPU. What would be the ideal resolution to push with that card? I apologize I ment to put the evga 220-gs-0550-v1. Thanks for the info btw

You can game at 1080p with the 960, depending on the game you may need to lower some settings. For the most part, you should be able to leave settings on high at 1080p.

With that being said why do the advertise the max resolution at 4096x2160 if it's only good for 1080?

It's marketing. You can play minesweeper at 4k if you want, but anything else will get you 10 fps.

They arent lying to you, just putting their best foot forward. Yes the card CAN perform at 4k - with everything turned down to the minimum on a game that is not very demanding. You're playing Battlefield 4. It's just not going to happen.

That's screwed up. Well so be it just have to upgrade at some point haha. So 1080 huh? So what monitor would be the best for my setup?

You could get the best monitor in the world, but the 960 will hold you back. Again, it will depend on the games you play and the settings you use, but a realistic expectation is 1080p with high settings. You could always upgrade the graphics card later on.

So would it hurt to get, say a 2560x1440 monitor of I plan on upgrading later or will the 1080p setting look like crap? Sorry to keep asking questions just trying to soak it all up. Never really understood resolutions and displays.

lol no problem.

No it wont hurt, you just need to be sure that you will be upgrading the gpu down the line. Otherwise you'll be throwing away money on a monitor that you cant take advantage of.

Awesome! Thanks again for the info!
