SO im building 2 Gaming rigs 1 for me and the other for my son im posting this because im wondering if there is anything here in the two list of parts that may pose a problem that I may be blind to.
this is the 1st one. This list of parts is a little shorter because he already has a WD blue 1 Tb 7200 sata HD,, Gtx 1070ti video card and a corsair 600 watt psu.

Now for my rig, I also have a corsair 750 watt psu and a gtx 970 video card

we also will both be using this computer case

one question though if I hook everything up and the ryzen processor is not being shown and i have to do a bios update will i know right away and get some bios error or will the system even turn on.
I don't know exactly what happens but you would knowright away for sure. It's all about mobo bios, if it's up to date it will run fine

The only issue you might run into is for the first rig you a paring a Ryzen 3000 series processor with a B450 motherboard - as these boards came out before Ryzen 3000 the board may require a bios update first before you can install the 3600X cpu (depending on when the board was released).... however as you are building the two machine you will have a Ryzen 2000 series cpu on hand from the other rig to update so not a serious problem.

If you did want to change that board, what I would suggest is go with a newer B550 board - they have Ryzen 3000 series support out of the box and will be getting an update to support the new Zen 3 based Ryzen 4000 series cpu's when they are released.

Don't get a B550 board for the other build though as those boards have no support for Ryzen 2000 series cpu's (AM4 cpu support is starting to get complicated! I guess this is the downside of keeping socket and cross compatibility alive for a long time - still prefer this to Intels approach of socket = dead after 2 gens).

That case is atx, if you can go big with ATX mobo. Msi B450-A PRO MAX is 100% compatible with 3000 series out of the box and should be also getting 4000 series support.

If you already have those systems then make sure that 3600x works on the mobo, or you would need to use the 2600x to update bios

well i already bought the items so no turning back now lol but if that bios update/processor problem happens rest assured ill be up on here again asking for someone to walk me through it lol. I will add though i did watch two videos on youtube with these same ryzen 5 2600x and 3600x paired with the same exact motherboards and they didnt run into any problems, hopefully ill get lucky too, but real life outcomes is sometimes different than youtube outcomes haha.

woooops, wait for a minute! i actually realized that it's a MAX mobo. MAX series are 100% compatible with 3000 series out of the box.

Make sure to enable XMP profile and enjoy!

I'm curious as to which exact Corsair model PSU is in each one? Particularly the 600W one, since the models that are evenly divisible by 100 are, if I recall correctly, older designs. Plus, Corsair has several models, from "built like a bomb shelter" to "eeh, you really should only use this with a basic office PC and integrated graphics only."
