Builing Retro Pc ( need help )

Hey guys!

I want to build a retro pc, i have gathered a ton of old games over te past year and its time to build a pc and relive some memories. I figured windows 98 would be most suitable since it can handle some good hardware and most very old and relatively new games.

I have found a second hand store that picks up old pc's and they said i can come take a look at what they have.

My question is; what parts should i look for? like what type of motherboard? what gpu's? whats cpu's? etc. i know i could do some research and i will, just thought this would be a good place to get a headstart 😉

Pentium 4 with a GeForce 256 would be pretty sweet haha

intel 915 is doable on 98se, but you'll need several add in cards.
865/875 are the best for 9x because they are fully supported, if not, an 845 isn't too bad.

I have built quite some legacy-gaming PCs in the last years.
It more or less depends on your selection of games.
Give a list, and i might well be able to tell you what you need.
