Hey I just built a new gaming pc. This is my very first build that I have done. I have a asus z170-a motherboard with a gtx 1060 6gb gpu i5-6600k processor with a 750m psu. I have everything in and ready to go but only 1 problem. My system won't boot up if I have my gpu in. I take my gpu out and it boots up right to the bios right away. I have been stuck as to what it can be for a few hours. Any help would be huge.

Solution
The monitor needs to be plugged into the GPU if you want to see anything. If you have the monitor plugged into the motherboard with the GPU installed you will not get any display.
If your monitor only supports VGA you will either need to get an active HDMI -> VGA adapter, or a Displayport to VGA adapter.
Hi mate! Did you download and install the drivers for your gpu and motherboard? If not, you'll want to go to the manufacturers' website for your motherboard and GPU and download & install the drivers.

You could also try booting with the GPU in another PCI slot to rule out the slot being faulty - you will want it in the slot closest to the CPU after testing though.

I have tried to boot the gpu in an other slot and still nothing. Same thing everything works just don't get nothing on the monitor. And in order to install the drivers for the gpu would I need to put them on a USB or something sorry if their simple questions just don't know much about this.

Yes, this makes all the difference. You want your display connected to your GPU, not your motherboard.
