My tower is using this motherboard:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F83RY49/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And this processor:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B41WS48/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I found out from MSI that the processor didn't have any video capability built into it, and I had made the assumption that the HDMI port on the MB meant that video capability was somehow part of the MB. So I begrudgingly bought this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AZHOX5K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Still nothing on any monitor using HDMI, VGA, or DVI (now using the connections on the video card).

What am I missing? Do I have to install the OS with another processor in place, and then switch later? No matter what I try, black screen of nothing.

Solution
Booting up with ALL the parts in place, and the monitor connected to that GPU, should give some result on the monitor.
Even before any Windows happens.

That was my assumption. Is there an easy way to determine MB vs Processor? It's got to be one of the two, right?
It could be a LOT of things.
