Built my first gaming pc and it won’t turn on

I built a gaming pc with these specs:

CPU - i3 8100

Motherboard- B360 Aorus Gaming 3 WiFi

Ram - DDR4 hyperX 2133 mhz

Case- CoolerMaster Masterlite 5 RGB

Gpu - Msi Armor Gtx 960 4gb

Psu- Corsair Cx430m

I’m sure I connected all the connections correctly but when I try to power the pc on the fans on the case and gpu spin slightly then stop and a red light on my motherboard indicating the cpu turns on I don’t know if there’s something wrong with my cpu or motherboard or my psu is too low of wattage or I did something wrong but I need help this is my first time building a pc . I checked the compatibility with my cpu and motherboard since it’s a 8th generation intel processor and it says they are compatible on the amazon site listing. What do I do ? Do I need a new power supply, cpu, motherboard, or any of my connections are wrong?

Are you sure you connected the 8-Pin plug at the top of the MB, and the CPU fan to the MB? If not, the CPU will not get proper power and it's fan will not spin.

Also, make sure the toggle switch on the back of the PSU is in the On position. They're On by default, but sometimes they get bumped accidentally.

Lastly, even if all plugs are connected properly, some case switches need to be held down for a second or so for the system to actually turn on.

That PSU is enough to run those parts though. This is more likely a matter of connecting all appropriate plugs, PSU toggle switch position, or just switching the PC on properly.

per the mb user guild f2 bios was the first bios and the bios that min needed to post your cpu. i would pull the mb and with just onboard video and one ram stick see if there life on your mb if not you may have a doa power supply. if a test power supply has the same issue check for bent pins under the cpu.

I swapped my power supply and it’s still happening I’ll check the pins under the cpu. If the pins on the motherboard under my cpu are bent is there a way to fix it? Or do I have to buy another motherboard?

If the pins are bent you're probably best off replacing the motherboard.

If the motherboard pins are fine. The way I would test to see if the CPU or motherboard is the problem, is to buy the cheapest compatible CPU for your motherboard for testing.

If the problems persist, it's the motherboard. If the PC works your CPU needs replacing. When you're done you can send the CPU you bought back or keep it as a back up.
