Hello...I built my first PC ever and kept everything default.

Here is my PC

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Spartagus423/saved/#view=cd6TCJ

I have been gaming at 1920 x 1080 60Hz because I have my old TV Connected to HDMI for my second monitor and caps at 60hz and My current PG279 144hz monitor is setup at 60hz so they can communicate without the lag issues I was getting.

My average temp on my 2080 ti ranges on average between 55-75 which I heard is fine.

I have been told that I should setup a custom fan curve with MSI Afterburner but not quite sure how to do so and if I need it at all.

I just want to make sure I setup my PC the best I can without messing it up. I am very new to getting the right settings but I always game and watch tv shows on netflix or other streams on my old tv.

Any help is appreciated. Toms Hardware forums has been very helpful and I appreciate the time you guys put in to answer our questions.

Thank You

Go to settings (cog) then fan

or do you mean what should your curve look like?

If you consider (x,y) on the graph, I have mine at (0,50) (50,70) (80,100) but you can make it any way you like. For instance if you can't stand the loud noise of fan on 100% just don't ever have it go past 100%

But that's really just because I like to tinker. Keeping it on auto is fine.
The amount of money you paid and the hardware you bought to play at 1080p 60Hz is very painful. You should be playing your games at 4K with that system. A lot of money spent for nothing.

A sub 1000 dollars PC can do 60fps at 1080p. You paid 4 times that.

That 1000 dollars 9900KS. The 9900KF would have been enough at 500 bux.

I get it. Money isn't an issue probably for you but you're using your system like it's a 1000 dollars PC.

I can't run 144hz smoothly when it is attached to the old tv. I spent 700 dollars on the i9 9900ks and 1100 for the 2080 ti.

I found when I setup my main screen to 144hz 2960 x 1440 and other one 60hz 1920 x 1080 caused lots of slow micro stutters or lag in my games because of Windows 10 issue I was told with different refresh rates.

I tried a lot of stuff to try and make it work but it isn't liking it. I spent the money because I don't like to upgrade PC every year. I usually like to try and keep it for 8 to 10 years without changing it.

Early on when I had everything working the first day or two I was able to run 144hz on main new monitor and 60hz on the old tv fine but after a day I had the display shut off and the fans were spinning and then I restarted. I haven't had that issue recently but that is something that happend
