Motherboards led lights come on when power supply is plugged in and turned on, but nothing happens when I hit the power button.
CPU: i7 6700k
Motherboard: MSi gaming m7
Power Supply: 220-G2-0750-XR

could you post a pic of the entire motherboard while you're at it please? 😀

is the CPU cooler well connected? there are motherboards that do not post when they do not detect a CPU fan connected

If you're getting status lights but no reaction to the power button, I'd go through the panel connections once more to make sure that you didn't invert the PWR LED and PWR SW connections, or that the PWR SW or RESET aren't shorted somehow. Look specifically for info on JFP1 and JFP2 in your user's manual for the specifics.

The CPU fan is plugged in. Tried both connectors and nothing changed.

Would this be affected if I tried using the internal power button on the motherboard? It doesn't work with the internal button, so I dont think that is the problem.

wow that high resolution picture x) was hoping to see the connections but guess that is out of the question lol

and yes, the embedded power button should work. What you can try to do is test the 12V pins of the main PSU cable, with the paper clip method. check it out here:

(also, you have the fan on your Hyper 212 EVO on the wrong side. It works better when it is pushing air against the cooler, towards the back of the case, where the air exhausts)

but this last part is just a detail. lets try to turn the rig on first :)

Like Blasc said, internal button should be fine regardless of JFP issues. While it seems far less likely, the only other thing that would keep it from at least giving errors would be if your Clear CMOS jumper was set to reset the bios. If so, set it to "Keep data".

Not 100% sure if I did it right, but the fan never started to spin. All of the cords were black so dont know if I did the correct one.

Could this be caused if I never got the computer to start? I started the build last night and never got it to work.

you did this?

http://www.howtogeek.com/172933/how-can-i-test-my-computers-power-supply/

you just have to count the pins.

Connect the 4th and the 5th from the right, when the "locker" is facing your way.

crap.... i'm out of ideas x)

hum.... leave only 1 RAM stick, and try to turn on. If nothing happens, change stick or change slot where the stick is......

I really can't think of another thing, since you didn't seem to have any GPU in there. (you have placed the CPU right? lool)

I have a GPU, but took it out so it is not that, and yes I have the CPU in. Going to try the RAM, but don't think its that because the fan's don't spin at all. Could it be a dead motherboard or CPU?
