I'm looking into buying a new rig sometime next month, this time i'm opting into getting a custom loop water cooled one as i wasn't completely happy with the temperatures i was getting on my old one while playing intensive games maxed out.

The rig i'm thinking of getting is the following:

https://www.scan.co.uk/3xs/shared/7c0ca5b8-2d8a-4681-b485-26d91389b4e4

I was just wondering a few things though.

Firstly this rig only comes with one 240mm radiator even though it's loop contains both a CPU and GPU. After reading online i was told that realistically you're supposed to have 120/140mm per component and an extra 120/140mm left for extra. Does this mean my temperatures won't be very good while gaming?

Secondly the motherboard it comes with is an Asus Z170i Pro Gamer, i've looked up some reviews on this board and it seems to mainly be positive. However hardly any of the reviews mention the quality of the WiFi on the board.

This is something of a concern for me as i can't use a wired connection at the moment and the board doesn't have an addtional slot for a dedicated WiFi card so does anyone know how it performs?

Thanks in advance,

Alex.

Given the parts used, they should be willing to send you a screen shot of the OC'd CPU and 1080 running happily on the water loop with ambient temp and component temps.

Heat dissipated by CPU and GPU has fallen dramatically over the last 3 years, so a smaller radiator would seem reasonable.

RE "..and the board doesn't have an additional slot for a dedicated WiFi card.." If for some reason the built in WIFI does not work well for you then go with a USB attached WIFI adapter ($20-$80) or a wifi access point that is enet cable attached. Most likely the included wifi on the ASUS board is good. There are also 2 x Wi-Fi antenna port(s) so you can include directional antennas to boost your signal strength if the connection is marginal. The wifi part of this PC seems relatively safe.

FWIW, I like aircooled in a larger, quiet case with a lower CPU OC than 4.6GHz, so would not enjoy this PC. Given that, this is a nice set of parts.

I recently noticed that the 240mm radiator it comes with is actually 40mm thick instead of the standard 25mm do you think that'll compensate for only having a 240mm rad?
