Hello Guys

so it's time for me to build a new PC (my first from scratch actually), my PC is getting old now ~5years so can't quiet handle the new games on max settings anymore :) anyway i've been looking around alot on Google and Tom's for an answer to my question, i've come up with a build but not quiet sure about what CPU and GPU combo is required and if it's overkill.. but i've come up with this build

CPU: AMD FX-8350
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme3
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x 4GB - DDR3 - 1600 MHz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 OC
SSD: Corsair Neutron Series 256GB (should be okay, i don't store a lot on my computer)
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 300R
Coolers: Corsair Air Series 120 Performance Edition 120MM Fan 2-pack
PSU: I got a brand new 850W Corsair (TX850 i think) in my current PC because my old died, so i assume i can use this one in my new PC and save the money

2nd option is:
CPU: AMD FX-6300
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 OC

but i've read so many different opinions on this CPU and GPU combination and i don't want to waste money on a FX-6300 if the performance will be noticeable

thanks in advance :) sorry about no links to the components

That build should be fine for BF4 on Ultra settings, however I would recommend an i5 4670k for roughly the same price. Also, the R9 280X is a re-branded 7970, but around £30 cheaper. Personally I would go for an i5 4670k and a GTX 770 as those two are the same price as an AMD FX-8350 and a 7970 after the recent NVIDIA price drops. But sure your build is absolutely fine. :D

All of that should run together, Dont get the fx6300 instead as it is worse than the 8350. Do you have a budget? I might be able to build a better one for the price

Yes i know it's worse, was just if i could save money and it would do the job fine without major performance changes :) this will cost me about 1300$, so my budget is about 1300$, rather not go higher

Ok can do :D
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1V5fB
This will out perform your by at least %15=20 and same price. I added a psu if you want a new one, 80 plus gold, fan doesnt turn on at low loads, high quality. If you take that off then it will be cheaper that the other one but with it, maybe $30 more ish
Ask if you want anything changed!

Not really a fan of Intel and Nvidia, i've always liked AMD :p beside i checked the price of the GPU and this build will cost quiet a bit more where i live, stuff ain't so cheap as in USA :) but the SSD is a better option

edit: also those RAM you suggested runs at 1866 MHz, i can only find those RAM in 1600 or 2133 MHz, should i just go for the 2133? price is the same

Oh you are not in the USA?
Where are you?
Would you give up all this performance just for brand preference?
You could wait for the new r9 290x since it is a BEAST and get the 4670k so its intel amd, that would give you better performance than the 780 but the 290x is not out yet, its been announced and listed and priced but you cant buy it yet. If you dont mind waiting a bit then wait for a custom cooler one and get than and a 4670k

Denmark. of course i want performance more, but this build will cost me around 250-270$ more, GPU cost alone 185$ more than HD7970, i just need a machine that can run what i need, no need a machine that is bullet proof for the next 10 years, i might not even be playing games anymore hehe :) the SSD is nice, the RAM i found in 2133MHz if those Work? i can't find those you suggested at 1866MHz, the case is too tall to be under my desk, my modem is big as fuck unless i turn it vertically :p but i can probably make room for it, if i buy that case instead would i still need those fans i suggested?

You can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9WKzIeDCRc How many fans it comes with.
The extras would just help the cooler. The only reason i suggested that ram is that it was cheaper than the 1600mhz but if the higher speeds are more money the provide almost no fps increase so just go with 1600mhz. IF they are the same price just get the 2133mhz one

i see, looks not bad with 3 fans, you think i would need the extra fans then or should i save the money? and the 1600 and 2133 cost the same strangely enough, so will just go with 2133mhz

gonna leave the extra fans for now, can always buy them if needed at some point, i may go with the i5-4670k and the MSI Z87-G45 + HD7970 for the price, it'll suit me fine i think, will go slighty above my budget but it'll probably be my first and last PC i'll build, the older you get the less you play, so yeah :p

Yea that would work well. When are you planning on getting this? The 290x may be out by that time and you could see if it is in the budget

when i have found a new monitor i think, gotta get a new monitor to get the most out of the stuff :) i tried looking for the 290x and it says 649$, looks to be a good 200$ more than 7970, but that's to be expected

The 290x is supposed to come out at about $549 it is more than the 7970 but it does out perform the titan in some games which is a $1000 card :)

nah rather just wait and get the newest series instead of an old model :)

so final build looks to be:

CPU: Core I5-4670K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
MB: MSI Z87-G45 GAMING
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB - 1600MHz
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB
GPU: Sapphire R9 280x Toxic
PSU: Corsair TX850 (the one in my current pc)
Case: Corsair Carbide 500R ATX White

skipping the extra fans at start to see how it works out with the stock fans

That should run pretty well BUT i would recommend getting a new psu, that old plain 80+ one seems un trust worthy since you said it was how old? You can get some decent 80+ bronze ones for cheap now like this if you want :

80+ gold

79.99

Oh wow my bad, i was thinking of the old TX series which is ancient... yours is this one then?
http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Enthusiast-Series-Modular-TX850M/dp/B005E98EI2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383231124&sr=8-1&keywords=tx850
OR

If it is the second one it is a pretty old psu and i would not like to use it for to much longer

*phew* thats good .

So everything looks good but i would not really get those corsair au series fans when you get some case fans, yes they are good but they are expensive when there are better options to be had like these for silence.

http://www.amazon.com/noctua-NF-P12-Noctua-Fan/dp/B000YSONMO/ref=sr_1_2ie=UTF8&qid=1383231581&sr=8-2&keywords=nf-f12

These for amazing heatsink/rad fans or amazingly quiet and moves alot of air for a case

http://www.amazon.com/Scythe-Gentle-Typhoon-1450rpm-45-9cfm/dp/B001Q6X0S6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383231589&sr=8-1&keywords=gentle+typhoon

These for just regular fans for the case

http://www.amazon.com/120mm-Performance-120RB-Black-White/dp/B0039825LM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1383231597&sr=8-3&keywords=120mm+fan

And these for cheaper quiet fans for the case

http://www.amazon.com/Enermax-Silence-Twister-Bearing-UCTB12/dp/B003IB2HYA/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1383231598&sr=8-12&keywords=120mm+fan

No it is a case fan but they do make one of the best cpu/rad fans which are here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00632FL8A/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i3?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=00PHC84JKKRBM9EMKNXX&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1
630072222&pf_rd_i=507846

Those and the Gentle Typhoons are the best cpu/rad fans that you can buy right now
Do you want silence?
The cheap $5 white ones are pretty good for the money
