Was trying out an egpu and the psu on it had an issue and it let the magic smoke out.
The nucbox shut down when it happened and won't come back on. The power led flashed 3 times and then nothing. It is a bit less than a month old and I got it through amazon so I was able to send it back but that process takes while. So I end up ordering a new unit. I ordered an Acemagician f3a with the Ryzen 9 ai x370cpu and 980m igpu. Got it on s-i-l for father's day, bit less then 800 after tax. I know the controversy over the malware last year but they supposedly fixed it.
I think they actually have because they were still doing it it with everyone watching them. I think we would be hearing about it. In any case first thing I will do is look for the endidive and redline trojans to be safe. Looking forward to seeing how that cpu with the 980m performs in games!
The 780m an Ryzen 7 8845hs was a beast giving me 100fps in cyberpunk 2077 and oblivion remastered but I did have 86gb of ram with 16 reserved for graphics. I kept the ram to put in the new one. I could do that as the f3a uses ddr5 instead of lddr5. Benchmark show slight decrease because of it but in real world, most people would never notice a difference betwee4b 5600 and 7000 ram performance.
