I have downloaded several iso burners and I can’t use any of them because every time I try to open it, it says I don’t have special permissions. Do you know how I could fix this so I can burn Windows 10 onto a usb flash drive to install on a new hard drive? Thanks.

I’ve tries this from windows vista and I tried the usb/dvd iso burner. It didn’t work. I also tried three times in a Windows 10 computer (trying a fourth time right now) to no avail. On Windows 10 I keep getting error code 0x80042405-0xA001A. Any ideas for
The Windows 10 computer that I keep getting the error code?

Here's a good guide to the issue: https://appuals.com/fix-media-creation-tool-error-0x80042405-0xa001a/
I'd recommend: 1. make sure your USB thumb drive is 8GB or larger. 2. Format the thumb drive per this guide (solution 2). 3. Follow the instructions in solution 1, i.e. download and run the installation media creation tool directly on the thumb drive.

I tried running the tool from the usb drive and I still got the error. I have 32 gb flash. I will read the link when I get home and try with the formatting and let you know. Thank you!

Thank you for your suggestions! It ended up working when I downloaded the Windows 10 to the hard drive and then I used the iso to burner app on Microsoft to burn it to usb. It’s now in my computer with the new hard drive and installing Windows 10, finally! Keeping my fingers crossed the rest of this
project goes well!!!

The Media Creation Tool sucks and never completed the burning process.
