Hello

So I made a pc build 3 months ago. Sadly after a few weeks the pc started to crash to black screens, green screens etc. I thought that it will wear off and it did untill a few days ago my pc started crashing again. Yesterday it crashed and rebooted itself but my room became filled with a burning smell so I unplugged everything as fast as possible. Now today I turned it back on to locate the smell and it seems to come from the back of my PSU....Seasonic seems a good company but a faulty psu can always happen even at the better ones. Now I'm planning to change it with this one:

EVGA SuperNova 650W 80Plus Gold : 120-G1-0650-XR

Specs:

AMD FX-6300
Sapphire Radeon r9 270x Toxic
Asus M5A97 Evo r2.0

No problem just wanted to be clear. Yeah it's unfortunate...a very good PSU but sometimes they can fail. The EVGA power supply is very good as well.

No I dont think so actually. 80 plus bronze doesnt mean what you think it does. It's actually just as reliable as some 80 plus gold power supplies. The quality of parts Seasonic uses in that power supply are very good.

this should help. Its the power supply tier list

Then there are PSU's like the EVGA SuperNOVA G2 series that can compete with the BEST series from Seasonic at a very low price point.

Absolutely I own a G2 1000W PSU. It was very good for the money. He's asking about reliability between two very good brands though and there really isnt a huge gap.

I see it now ImDaBaron barely no difference in tiers. So I might just have back luck that they have sended me a faulty PSU. I think that you need luck sometimes.

So the EVGA one should be the same in reliability as the S12ii? Only that it is modular and has 30 more wattage as my 620W

Most of the time it comes down the price and I agree

I must say that the EVGA 650W is a G1 series and I don't see those on the tier list :)

Ty both u guys. Installed it and running like a charm. I was also a big fan of the package of the G2, very very impressed by it for now.
Hopefully it will carry enough power too my R9 270x because that seemed a big issue for the S12ii (most likely a production fault)
