So I was playing a game when suddenly a strong smell of burned component or plastic started to hit my nose. I've turned off the PC however I couldn't pinpoint the exact culprit. I've opened up the case, tried to put my nose everywhere and checked for any visual burn marks however out of luck.

I believe it might be the PSU, however, 10 minutes before I was fiddling with Afterburner so I am not sure if it pulled some shenanigans on the GPU settings (I reduced core clock) as it has before so I am very confused what to do next. After this, I've removed overclock on GPU (which worked fine for past 4 months). I tried playing game again for 30 minutes, stress test, nada.

I have
R5 1600
GA B350 Gaming 3
R9 290
CS750M

It could be internal problem with PSU as it worked okay before due to past 2 months I am using both cable connection slots for PCI-E and have each cable connected to GPU as I saw thats the "correct way" to have GPU supplied instead of using only 1 PCIe cable and both of its connectors.
