Burnt wires in Corsair Crystal 570X RGB Case

So I recently bought the Corsair crystal 570x RGB Case from scan as the first part of upgrading my system. I moved over all the components from my old case to the new one and plugged everything in. I powered up the system and immediately noticed that the power wire coming from the RGB fan hub that comes included with the case was melting. This cable is a sata power cable that I had plugged straight into my power supply as I had seen others do in builds. I assumed it was a problem with the hub itself and got corsair to send me a new one over. I installed the new hub and has the exact same problem. The system runs perfectly without plugging in the hub but that means no RGB fans which removes half the fun of the case. Any suggestions for what I could be doing wrong?
I would just like to add that this is the first time I have build a system so I might be missing some huge thing that I hadn't thought of.

I have the same issue, the sata cable coming from the fan hub melted from my HD120 set. I swapped the fan hub with an identical one from my sp120's that came with the crystal 570x case and tried it again. this time i held the cable in my hand as i powered up and immediately felt the cable warm up so i switched the power off and unplugged the sata connected to the PSU.

If anyone has an answer, please chime in.
