Thanks, nice to read. But

I remember in 1980 when you came to an Arcade you sometimes had to wait
to get your hands on Defender or Tempest. And many other games around,
like Phenix and cosmic Guerilla (1979).

Actually I would say credits should also be given to the makers of Space
Invaders and Pac Man.

I'm sure I saw it those days when Defender was in the same Arcade and
very frequented. Ah, yes, it's by Atari from 1980.

We had only small Arcades in our village, and there were only about 7
cabs. On an other side there were "older" pinball machines, like Playboy
and KISS (I think both from 1978). But volume was pulled up. You could
hear people playing from some distance. :)

I think my all time high score was about 120,000. While on Donkey Kong
JR. I had close to 400,000. Did this in an Arcade at a beach in Spain in
1985 when it was already old. With "new" cabs like Punch Out! :)

I agree with you there, Pac Man had more of an impact than Donkey Kong. I
thought Tempest came out after DK, but I might be wrong. I know the
Arcade which I went to, just about all the games had lines waiting to play
them on the weekends. Donkey Kong was fun, since me and a couple of
friends could play the game for quite a while, about 600,000 or more
points, just wish I could still do that....

Funny, that's exactly what I remember too. Tempest and Defender. With
Pacman a fairly distant third.
