Business using email portal rather then regular email

I asked a company for some information by using its own email portal (as opposed to it having an @customerservice.com etc). Are these communications likely to be retained anywhere or only by the company please?

Communications, emails, chats, online posts, texting.....

Anything and everything is likely to be retained somewhere.

Would be very surprised if the company is not retaining copies of all communications.

In this day and age of lawsuits, security, "fake news", and so forth it would be a wise defensive measure to retain such records.
