Buy a 1060 now or wait

I'm putting together my new build somewhere in the middle of the year. With the 1060 already being over half a year old i'm worried if i buy it, in a short time it will be replace by the next generation and will be irrelevant. I want a gpu that was recently released, so i might purchase the rx 500 series polaris refresh. Thoughts? Thanks

it won't irrelevant for 2-3 generations, you'll probably increase your monitor resolution first. Growth in demands from games cause it to become less relevant.

I have a 1060 and there worth it. They are powerful. All lates games 1080p over 60 fos max settings.
