Buy GTX 970 or wait for r9 300 series?

Hello everyone

Not long time ago I have asked whether it's a good improvement to move from 270x to 280x and everyone told me that it is not worthwhile so I have got a question is it better to buy GTX 970 now or wait for r9 300 series?

If your current card does the deed for you , will carry on with its performance for the next 6 months and you're not highly anticipating any game that will be held back by your current GPU then the wait might be well worth it.

Otherwise the GTX 970 is a great card for 1080p , 1440p and dual monitors setup ... very efficient one too that probably won't need you to change your power supply.

I'd wait, the R9 390 series is expected to be worth the wait. Though nothing is confirmed and release date neither, It has stopped me from buying another R9 290X for gaming at 4k.

I agree with TopLuca. If your card is good enough for now then wait to see what NVIDIA and AMD have to offer in the upcoming months. I would guess and say that a 980ti would be released around the same time if not a little later then the new r9 300 series.
