I just noticed that my gcard was pci 3.0, not 2.0. Because of this, I believe I am bottlenecking my computer's capabilities very much. I have the AMD 8350 at 4.0 ghz, 16 gbs ram, and a NVIDIA Geforce ftx 660ti. My motherboard is a very generic one with pci 2.0. Should I just buy a decent AMD graphics card ( and possibly save some money ) or buy a new Intel CPU and Motherboard? My birthday is coming up so I may have some money to spend.

Like other's have said...there really is no bottlenecking, and if you are not overclocking your CPU don't even spend any money on a new motherboard. Having PCI-E 2.0 is nothing to worry about as the slot is not saturated by a 660ti. If everything is running well, you should be having great gaming performance. Are you noticing any specific problems? the 660ti is a fairly powerful card.

I have been actually, some games I can barely run at high-medium settings such as far cry 3 and crysis 3 when my friend with a 560ti and a amd 4 core cpu can play on ultra no problem. It may be my psu. Its 550 watts I believe and that may not be enough.

The thing is, I really don't think I am getting the right performance out of my computer itself as a whole. The games I have been playing, I can't play them at max, when my friend with a lower end computer can play them like that. I am using dual monitors if that might do anything...

My friend also suggested this, get a new heatsink and fan. I am using the stock one right now, and I don't think I have been getting any over-heating going on or anything...

Call me stupid or dumb, but could it be because I have a pirated version of windows 7?
