[SOLVED] Buy new PC or just upgrade?

Hello,
i'm wondering if i should just buy a new PC or upgrade my current one as some of the newer games seem to not run as well as i'd hope( although i'm pretty sure it's mostly the disks fault since it's almost 6 years old now).
So my current setup is:
CPU - Intel Core i5-4670K (3.4GHz)
GPU - Nvidia GTX 1060-6GB
RAM - 16GB DIMM DDR3 clocked @ 1867 MHz
Disk[HDD] - WD Black 1TB (2013) (what i'm suspecting is the main cause of my PC under performing) and
Disk[SSD] - Crucial M550 128GB
Any opinion would be greatly appreciated!

would like to play the newer titles like bf5, rdr2
i currently get stutters on games that should run smoothly like bf1 and borderlands 3

Bf5 is a cpu hog. Rdr2 is a whole other level! If you can afford a new build, I'd say go for it. Watch some rdr2 reviews, even the 2080ti is struggling at anything over 1080p.

Hi, probably time for an upgrade, not sure what PSU you have and the cooler is not a must (but this one is a cheap option to good to keep the CPU quiet and at good performance, there are others and better options for around 40 bucks). You will need to ask the seller to update the BIOS of the motherboard in case its not compatible with Zen 2 CPUs.

Well... yes and no, the GTX 1060-6GB is a very decent card, and it will perform very good with one of this new CPU, but you could use some more power on games like BF5 or newers. It will come down to how many display settings are you willing to lower to make the game play smoothly. But really try it out first, before you buy a new GPU, the GTX 1060 still a very good card!!!

The list I posted in fact was just one of the many posibilities available. You can mix up many dif components (as long as they are compatible) to build a new rig.

In fact now that I saw you have 1K euro to spend, I will for example change the cooler to something like: https://www.arctic.ac/worldwide_en/freezer-34-esports-duo.html, which should be easier to install and would perform better than the one I listed.

Right now theres one important thing to keep in mind, depending on your budget (and Im not an AMD fan boy), only the Intel Core i7 8700/8700K (6cores/12threads) or the i9 9900/9900K (6cores/12threads) make sense to me buying today on the blue team.

Now if we go step by step, also depending on the budget, if you need to spend less than150 bucks on your CPU, then theres only two viable options Ryzen 5 2600 or 2600X.
If you can go up to the U$190ish mark theres only 1 option that has the best price/game performance right now Ryzen 5 3600 (yes, you could get a Ryzen 7 2700X for a little less, but thats some really power hungry cpu, and the Ryzen 5 3600 will still have better IPC).
Once you step up to the U$300 mark theres the Core i7 8700K and Ryzen 7 3700X, but neither of those will give you such a huge gain against the Ryzen 5 3600 (the main diference between them all is that the Ryzen 3700X has 8 cores and 16 threads so is not really a bad investment for the future).
Higher than the U$300 mark, theres only the 9900K (everything in between or higher is not worth it really).

Thats how I see it, of course someone else could have a diferent point of view.
