Buy Or Build Desktop For 2D Animation

Hello everybody! I am considering either buying another desktop computer or building one as the computer I have now is a hand-me-down $400-ish desktop and it's kind of frustrating to do work on it. I am primarily a 2D animator who makes hand-drawn and motion graphics animations. The programs I use are Adobe Production Premium Suite CS6 and Toon Boom Studio 8.0.

I've been told that if I'm not creating 3D animations I do not need a dedicated graphics card but at least a good processor (at least an Intel Core i7). I don't know if I should get a high end business PC desktop or piece together a gaming PC with no graphics card.

Adobe software can be quite demanding especially when rendering and or exporting projects. In my opinion I'd recommend a GTX 1050 or an older generation equivalent. The graphics card can handle Adobe software very well including any other productive software. A good processor is also extremely recommended with a minimum of an Intel i5 quad core. If you plan on doing some light weight gaming then a graphics card is essential for any system.

Building a PC will and always will be your best option if you have the time. However, if you are very busy it would more likely suit you to purchase a computer online with the hardware I referenced.
