Buy pascal or wait for volta (mobile)

planning on buying a laptop (already have a pc though), hp omen with a 7700hq and 1050 ti, should i get it or wait for volta mobile gpus?

Is that laptop enough for your needs? If so just buy now, there's been no release date on Volta mobile (Only Titan V is out) and if you keep on waiting on the "best new thing" you'll never get anything lol.

there will always be something better just around the corner....volta is likely to hit in 2018 q2 so your wait could be upwards of 6 months...nvidia has no real reason to launch volta as the 1080ti is still king....so unless amd realeases something to knock nvidia off the throne i think it will be a while before we see volta

amd cpu's with built in graphics is supposed to land in the same timeframe possibly in q1 and could offer long batterylife as well as decent frame rates....imho wait for the january sale and pick up what you need then...
