[SOLVED] Buy Ryzen 5 2600 or 3600 ?

2600 is $120 + $30 off mobo,
3600 is $200 + $50 off mobo.
Microcenter within 10minutes.

The CPU will be paired with a mid range gpu that is up to $300, likely a 1660ti.

I see it as the $60 difference in CPU platforms,so it might be worth getting the 3600. But the total build is meant to be $800-1000, not sure it is worth the expenditure on cpu.

Can anyone help sway one way or the other? thx.

Solution
I would get the 3600 if I was building a system now.
My 2600 performs very well but the 3600 performs quite a better according to the few reviews I that I have seen.
2600, the difference in performance will be pretty low for a $100 difference, considering the r5 3600 just came out and games arent highly optimized for it yet

But if only $60 difference? The mobo will be bought there too, so I can apply Microcenter's $30 or $50 discount on mobos. And games are getting better suited for 6 cores with high clock speeds. My 7700k seemed good in early 2017, but nowadays there is no way I'd buy a quad core, even with hyperthreading.
