[SOLVED] Buy Ryzen 5 2600 or Ryzen 5 3600??

Hello guys I want to build a pc at around 700 euros budget. I know that there is already a thread about 2600 vs 3600 but it is 1 year old and thing should have changed i guess.
The parts i am about to buy are the following:
Motherboard:
GPU: GTX 1660 6GB
RAM: G.Skill Aegis 16gb ddr4 3000 mhz
PSU: Corsair CX550

I've seen some benchmark videos of these two cpus and this gpu and the fps difference was not that significant. For games such as Valorant and csgo though the difference was quite noticeable I think.
With that GPU is 3600 more money for nothing?
Also is the 2600 old yet? I mean should i consider the future prospect for the choice?

What is the price difference in your area?

Other things to consider are the motherboard. The B450 is compatible, out of the box with the 2600. The 3600 may require a BIOS update (unless you get an MSI MAX Series B450).
How do the B450 motherboards compare in price to the X570s?
Just how tight is your budget?
For the 3600, DDR4-3600 RAM would be preferred.
For the 2600, DDR4-3200 RAM would be preferred.
What is the price difference between these and your selected DDR4-3000?

Ryzen 2600 - 120 euros
Ryzen 3600 - 170 euros
RAM 3200 - 73 euros
RAM 3600 - 105 euros
Mobo b450 - 80 to 100 euros
Mobo X570 - 200 euros
Mobo msi max - 120 euros
So you are saying that if I dont make these upgrades 3600 is not worth it over the 2600??

I've been perfectly happy with my 2600, but even if I did game heavily, I don't need it running at ultra settings. If budget allows, of course go with the upgrades, but in my opinion, I could find a better use for the €100 saved by going with the Ryzen 5 2600.

It's more about budget than it is about age. If you have the budget for the 3600 and it's recommended components (DDR4-3600 RAM/X570 motherboard), then by all means, get the Ryzen 3600. If not, then it's kind of a moot point anyway, isn't it?

It also depends on your usage. For me, my current system was an upgrade to a 9 year old, first gen Intel Core I5-760. I expect my current system to last about as long, so that's about another 8 years. I'm not worried about what else is coming down the line. It does what I want it to do. I'm pretty sure that the Ryzen 5 2600 would serve you just as well.

Grab the 3600...it offers much higher boost clocks, better memory support, pci-e 4 support, and twice the cache memory.

The 3600 is all around better at gaming...it is even a match or better than the 2700x in gaming. The one place where the 3600 makes a really big difference is in the 1% lows...most people just look at average frame rates which is a mistake.

At the minimum frame rates (1% lows) is where buying the 3600 makes the most impact. This is even more important considering that the GPU is the most often upgraded component for gamers and the 3600 is capable of pushing mid and high end gpus much harder than the 2600 which will pay dividends down the road for you.
