Does the ram stick have to say compatible with Windows 7 64 bit or would a ram stick compatible with windows 8 also work with Windows 7 64 bit ?

the issue with compatibility to os is not important what is important is that it is compatible with your mobo if you go to the manufacturers site they will have a list of supported kits

The version of Windows makes no difference. Your motherboard and CPU are what matters. Specs?
